CICI4D — GUIDE #97: GET RESULTS IN 60 MINUTES OR LESS

This guide is for action-takers. No fluff. No waiting. You’ll have Cici4d running before your coffee cools. Follow every step. Skip nothing.

YOUR TOOLKIT — GRAB IT NOW

1. Download Cici4d from the official mirror: cici4d.net/download.

2. Unzip the file to C:Cici4d or /home/yourname/Cici4d.

3. Keep your license key in a text file on your desktop. You’ll need it in 3 minutes.

INSTALLATION — 5 MINUTES, NO EXCUSES

1. Double-click the installer. Choose “Express Setup.”

2. Paste your license key when prompted. Hit Enter.

3. Wait for the green “Ready” pop-up. Close the installer.

FIRST LAUNCH — FIRE IT UP

1. Open the Cici4d folder. Double-click Cici4d.exe (Windows) or ./cici4d (Linux/Mac).

2. Click “New Project.” Name it “Test_01.” Hit Create.

3. You’re in. The viewport shows a default cube. That’s your starting point.

NAVIGATE LIKE A PRO — 2 MINUTE CRASH COURSE

1. Right-click + drag to orbit the view.

2. Middle-click + drag to pan.

3. Scroll wheel to zoom. No menus. No delays.

CREATE YOUR FIRST OBJECT — 60 SECONDS

1. Press Shift + A. Choose “Sphere.”

2. Click anywhere in the viewport. A sphere appears.

3. Press T to open the tools panel. Drag the radius slider to 2m.

APPLY A MATERIAL — INSTANT VISUALS

1. Select the sphere. Press M.

2. Click “New Material.” Name it “Red_Plastic.”

3. Under “Base Color,” pick a bright red. Close the panel.

ADD A LIGHT — SEE WHAT YOU’RE DOING

1. Press Shift + A. Choose “Light” → “Area.”

2. Click above the sphere. A light appears.

3. Press G to grab it. Move it 3m above the sphere. Press Enter.

RENDER A TEST IMAGE — PROOF YOU’RE MOVING

1. Press F10 to open render settings.

2. Set resolution to 800×600. Click “Render.”

3. Wait 10 seconds. A red sphere on gray appears. You just rendered.

SAVE YOUR WORK — DON’T LOSE IT

1. Press Ctrl + S. Name it “Red_Sphere_01.c4d.”

2. Choose your project folder. Hit Save.

3. Close Cici4d. Reopen it. Load your file. It’s there.

QUICK ANIMATION — 5 MINUTE TIMELINE BASICS

1. Press Ctrl + 2 to open the timeline.

2. Move the playhead to frame 0. Select the sphere.

3. Press R to rotate. Drag the Y-axis to 0°. Click the record button (red circle).

4. Move to frame 30. Rotate the sphere 360°. Click record again.

5. Press Space to play. The sphere spins. You animated.

EXPORT YOUR FIRST FILE — SHARE IT NOW

1. Press Ctrl + E. Choose “Image Sequence.”

2. Set format to PNG. Click “Export.”

3. Wait 20 seconds. Check your project folder. Frames 0-30 are there.

OPTIMIZE YOUR WORKFLOW — 3 SETTINGS TO CHANGE TODAY

1. Press Ctrl + U to open preferences.

2. Under “Viewport,” set “Display” to “High Quality.”

3. Under “Memory,” set “Undo Steps” to 50.

4. Under “Auto-Save,” enable “Every 5 Minutes.” Hit OK.

FIND ASSETS FAST — NO WASTED TIME

1. Press Shift + F to open the asset browser.

2. Type “metal” in the search bar. Hit Enter.

3. Drag a steel material onto your sphere. Done.

USE PRESETS — SKIP REINVENTING THE WHEEL

1. Press Shift + A. Choose “Presets” → “Chairs.”

2. Click “Modern_01.” A chair appears.

3. Press G to move it. Place it next to your sphere.

CAMERA SETUP — FRAME YOUR SHOT

1. Press Ctrl + 1 to add a camera.

2. Select the camera. Press C to make it active.

3. Right-click in the viewport. Choose “Camera View.” Now you’re framing.

RENDER SETTINGS — GET PRO QUALITY IN MINUTES

1. Press F10. Set “Samples” to 128.

2. Under “Output,” set “Format” to JPEG. Quality to 95%.

3. Under “Effects,” enable “Ambient Occlusion.” Hit Render.

SAVE PRESETS — REUSE YOUR WORK

1. Select your red material. Right-click it.

2. Choose “Save as Preset.” Name it “Red_Plastic.”

3. Next project: Shift + F → search “Red_Plastic.” Drag and drop.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS — MOVE FASTER

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + ? to open the shortcut cheat sheet.

2. Memorize these 5:

– G = Move

– R = Rotate

– S = Scale

– E = Extrude

– Ctrl + Z = Undo

3. Practice each 3 times. Muscle memory = speed.

TROUBLESHOOTING — FIX IT NOW

1. Viewport lag? Press O. Set “Level of Detail” to Low.

2. Missing textures? Press Shift + T. Reload all.

3. Crash? Restart. If it persists, delete prefs.xml in your Cici4d folder.
